Lib Dem transport spokesperson councillor Ian Shires has met with residents groups in the Short Heath area of Willenhall to gauge peoples views on “The Agency’s” latest thinking on the subject.
“The findings were conclusive” said Ian. “The ERA “The Agency” wants to site by the Woodlands Estate should be moved a short distance south where it would not impact on any houses and “The Agency” should abandon any idea of an ERA next to the Wood Lane Estate and Crab Lane area as there are no locations there which would not dramatically impact on residents.
“Other issues that need to be resolved are assurances around the effectiveness of crash barriers and demands for a much improved acoustic barrier” concluded Ian.
West Midlands Lib Dem MEP Liz Lynne visited the area last week and has added her support to the fight to get the Highways Agency to recognise the adverse impact on the quality of life their plans will have on those living near the M6 between J10 and 10a.
