Sneyd School Closure-Deputation to see Minister

Vernon Coaker, the Minister of State for Schools and Learning, has agreed to receive a deputation from the Sneyd School Action Group on Tuesday 30th June. The visit was arranged through the local MP David Winnick.
Welcoming the visit Liberal Democrat councillor Ian Shires said “this will give the group the chance to get around the stone wall being put up by Education Walsall Serco and Walsall’s Tory cabinet and present the case to continue 11-19 education on the Vernon Way site. The action group has been trying for some time to put it’s case directly to the Minister” he concluded.
It is the view of local Lib Dem councillors that as far as Walsall’s Tory Cabinet is concerned closing Sneyd is a done deal based on political dogma rather than the education needs of those living in North Willenhall and Bloxwich.
