Two polls have recorded increased support for the Liberal Democrats – giving the Lib Dems a boost after the Party’s Conference.
A further poll was released yestetrday by the Mail on Sunday which was carried out by BPIX, which the Mail claims are particularly somber readings for Gordon Brown in advance of the Labour Conference.
The BPIX poll is slightly better for the Tories, than previous two as it gives them a slightly increased lead of 15 points ahead of Labour which is enough to give Mr Cameron a large Commons majority.
BPIX found that if there were a General Election tomorrow Labour would finish on 25%; the Tories 40%; and the Liberal Democrats 23% (just 3 percentage points behind Labour). Interestingly, we have now seen the results of three polls in the last twenty four hours and in each case the results are very much similar; however over the next few weeks there is bound to be further change after the Labour and Tory Conferences.
When voters were asked: Do you agree with Vince Cable’s £5,000; surprisingly or not surprisingly whichever side of the fence you sit on, 57% said yes and only 27% said no. Therefore, it appears that Vince could just be on a winner with this one when the policy is given more consideration and public scrutiny.
