Sections of the M6 through the Black Country will be closed this weekend to allow obsolete gantries to be removed Reports Liberal Democrat councillor Ian Shires.
The closures will be between J8, where the M6 joins the M5, and J10, for Walsall and Willenhall. They will begin tonight when the Northbound carriageway will close from 10pm to 8am Saturday.
The Southbound carriageway will close from 10pm Saturday to 8 am Sunday.
The work is being carried out as part of the ongoing works to allow four lane running at peak times by opening up the hard shoulder to traffic.
“The potential chaos the closures will cause just add to the on-going misery that is being suffered by residents who live by the motorway between J10 and J10a” said Ian. “I am hoping to here details of the promised meeting with the Chief Executive of the Highways Agency Graham Dalton which was supposed to take place next week” concluded Ian.
