Over the past week a massive clean up has taken place along the length of the Linear Walkway which follows the route of the old mineral railway between the Lichfield Road via Forest Gate through to Coltham Road thanks to pressure from the Willenhall North Lib Dem Focus Team reports Group Leader Ian Shires.
People on Community Payback supervised by the Probation Service have helped in the clean up process.
It’s not going to end there. This stretch of public amenity should be New Invention’s “Sutton Park” or Walsall Arboretum”. It has massive potential if only a small minority of people would stop using it as a dumping ground for rubbish which they could just as easily have taken to the Civic Amenity Site.
The Lib Dem Focus Team have asked for options to be identified which can be put to local residents and users of the walkway as part of a long term management plan for this area. We are open to suggestions so this is your chance to have a real say in the future of what should be a real asset to the local community.
