There are two important “Call-ins” to be heard tonight at a special meeting of the “Community Services performance and Scrutiny Panel reports Liberal Democrat councillor Ian Shires.
The two “Call-ins” are in connection with Walsall Council’s Tory Cabinet’s decision to axe Willenhall Leisure Centre and the outdoor education centre at Bryntysilio in North Wales. The meeting starts at 6pm in a conference room at Walsall Council House.
Concerns have already been expressed by opposition Liberal Democrat councillors about the way in which the Tory chair of the panel wants to structure the meeting. “The whole thing brings into question the way in which the majority Tory group have ensured their domination by putting their members in as chairs of all but one of the Scrutiny Panels” said Ian.
