Labour Hypocracy on EMA

Since when has listening to people during a consultation period and adjusting your plans to respond to the results of that consultation been a massive climbdown?

That seems to be the line Labour has taken over the issue of Education Maintenance Allowances (EMA) and Coalition plans. Plans which are designed to put the money where it is needed in a form that provides the help needed to address some of the inequalities that previous governments, including Labour, have failed to tackle.

Any criticism coming from Labour on the EMA is rich considering that they, whilst in government, had planned to do away with it all together by increasing the school leaving age to 18 by 2014!!
