Don’t ever lose faith with the younger generation. That was the impression I will take away from the question and answer session I was invited to by year 6 pupils at the “Woodlands” school in Short Heath, Willenhall.
Year 6 had written to me about the problem of dog mess which was becoming a real problem of health and safety on their walk to school routes. The questions they came up with yesterday went much further than that. They ranged from speeding motorists to problems of litter, the dangers of playing with fire in and around nearby “Rough Wood”, vandalism and the need for youth facilities for teenagers.
I had a really informative time and hope to work with the school to see many of their great ideas put into practice.
Final thought. You should all try it,it will restore your faith in the future.
