Complaints about the new bus services continue to come in. Liberal Democrat councillors representing Willenhall North and Short Heath are demanding talks with Centro and Walsall Council to thrash out a solution to the problems emanating from the resent review of bus services across the west of Walsall and Wolverhampton reports Lib Dem cllr Ian Shires
Following on from yesterday’s article about bus users along the Ashmorelake Road,Lucknow Road, Coppice Lane, Cannock Road corridor being deprived of links to local GP’s surgeries, Sainsbury’s and employment areas along the A34 http://bit.ly/qlD9pA , bus users in Short Heath have contacted Willenhall Liberal Democrats about overcrowding and a lack of punctuality on the new 69 route Wolverhampton to Walsall service and the new Arriva X31 express service to Birmingham.
“Demand for some services have been clearly underestimated by bus operators” commented Ian. “That should be easy for them to rectify by increasing the frequency at key times of the day, but there is no excuse for poor punctuality. An improvement in punctuality was supposed to be one of the benefits of the review” said Ian.
“This thing is not going to go away so the sooner Centro and the bus operators recognise this and agree to meet with local councillors the better it will be for everyone” concluded Ian.
