Work begins on securing the former Meadow House site

by Ian Shires on 4 July, 2015

120819 Full D'load 086Good to see work has started on securing the Meadow House site following the granting of planning permission a couple of weeks ago.

Workmen are erecting a fence around the site prior to it being cleared ready for building work to start on the new nursing home and the six houses.

Unfortunately there is no fixed time scale for the work to be carried out. Willenhall Liberal Democrats are appealing to the owners to begin work as soon as possible to bring some normality back to the area.

Things are moving more slowly on the former Cavalcade pub site. Although planning permission has been granted there are still one or two issues to be ironed out before the permission can be implemented.

The liberal Democrat team are disappointed that pleas from local residents for action to be taken to prevent any overspill parking, particularly in respect of the new nursing home, were dismissed by Tories on the Planning Committee. They seemed more interested in appeasing the developers than looking after the interests of existing residents.
