New Lib Dem Member launches Willenhall South Focus Team

by Ian Shires on 3 September, 2015

Catherine Rollason has wasted no time in getting active in her local community since recently joining the Liberal Democrats.

Catherine lives not far from the town centre and was so incensed at the run down state of her local centre she was determined to do something about it.

IMG_20150830_124207Bell Alley should be one of those interesting little alleyways you would expect to find in a conservation area especially after all the hard work put in by the local owners of The Bell. Instead it’s being used as a dumping ground for rubbish. “What needs to happen is to catch those responsible red handed and take stiff action to put others off from doing the same thing. To do this CCTV needs to be installed” said Catherine. “I have written to Walsall Council asking them to take urgent action”.

Catherine has also written to the council about the extortionate fines being imposed on the 99 p car park. “I know it’s in private ownership but the council should be able to come to the aid of its citizens in situations like this!” Catherine is not proposing that the council should pay these fines. “What it should be doing is use its might to stop this practice which is reminiscent of private clamping. The owners of the 99 p store should realise that what they are doing is not good for their business and not good for our town.”
