Just a quick update on the Severn Trent’s works which are causing severe delays around Short Heath, New Invention and further afield in parts of Wednesfield.
The work on back filling and resurfacing the area around the manhole which collapsed a few days ago should be completed today (Wednesday).
Once this has been done Severn Trent intend to return the water main renewal work in Lucknow Road. In spite pressure put on Severn Trent not to close Lucknow Rd they have insisted that they need to as they need to set up cross road connections. As a result the diversions will have to go back in place.
To make matters worse there is now a problem in Haley Street near its junction with Sandbeds Roads. A small hole appeared yesterday and water is running down the north bound side of Sandbeds Roads.
The Willenhall Lib Dem Focus Team has asked the Council to intervene as temporary traffic Lights will need to be installed to control traffic into the bottom half of Haley Street between Mill Lane and Sandbeds Road. At the time of writing we are not sure when this will happen nor whether it will effect the work in Lucknow Road.
