The meeting we had on Monday with National Express West Midlands (NXWM) and Centro made some progress but still some way to go before the end of the week when NXWM need to make a final decision. Will update you further as we get more details.

There is a site visit to look at issues in Shelley Road this morning with Centro to look at issues with the bus stop by the shop. This is separate to the bus route revision being conducted by NXWM.

Meanwhile Severn Trent’s insistence on closing Lucknow Road in Short Heath continues to play havoc with bus schedules across the whole of the Willenhall area and beyond as buses get snarled up in the long tailbacks along the diversion route. “I think what gets peoples backs up more than anything is that it often looks as if very little is going on in the road works” said Liberal Democrat Cllr Ian Shires. “I am convinced in my own mind that this work could have been scheduled in such a way that temporary traffic lights could see traffic safely through the effected area. Instead Severn Trent seem to have taken the easy option for them without any thought for the disruption they are creating.”
