Liberal DEMOCRAT Activist Learn more

The weather has not been pleasant over the weekend, but whilst the local Tories and Ukip had another duvet day the Lib Dems were out and about in the snow delivering Focus and talking with residents about the things that really matter.
Work has started in the long awaited resurfacing of the road and footpaths in Spring Lane.
Short Heath Liberal Democrat Cllr Dan Barker and Ben Hodges take the opportunity to check out the first stages of the work, the laying in of new curbing and the tarmacking of the footpaths.
The main work, that of resurfacing the road and the completion of the traffic calming will begin in April.
Spring Lane has been in need of resurfacing for a long time. Its condition is so bad that it will need some
heavy reconstruction. Some of the cost is being borne by the developer of the new homes off the lane. Work on resurfacing has had to be delayed until all the new homes were completed when all the construction traffic has left the area.
Once completed driving and walking along the lane will be a better experience and it is hoped that the traffic calming will prevent it becoming a rat run.
