Short Heath Lib Dem Focus Team have announced the success of their hard fought campaign to get an upgrade of the pedestrian crossing in Lucknow Road as Walsall Council complete work on replacing the old style Belisha beacon with the all new LED version.

This follows hard on the heals of the Willenhall North Lib Dem Focus Team’s successful campaign to get a similar crossing installed by the Methodist Church in Wesley Road.

The upgrade of the crossing in Lucknow Road near its junction with Martin Drive was first mentioned in the October Edition of our Short Heath Focus. “The LED crossings are a vast improvement on the old style Belisha Beacons” Ben Hodges our newest activist in Short Heath.

“As well as being more obvious to the motorist the LED lighting around the beacon and on the post are far less intrusive to nearby neighbours” said Short Heath’s Lib Dem Cllr Dan Barker.
