Work due to start on the final stages of resurfacing Coppice Lane and Lucknow Road

by Ian Shires on 4 May, 2017

Work is due to start Saturday 6th May on the final stages of resurfacing Coppice Lane and Lucknow Road Willenhall between The Coppice and Spring Lane.

The work will be carried out by contractors working on behalf of Walsall Council and will be done in two phases. On Saturday 6th May (AM)  and Sunday 7th May Coppice Lane and Lucknow Road will be closed to through traffic between the Amery Island and Mill Lane to enable the contractor to Micro Asphalt this section of road. On Saturday 6th May (PM) Lucknow Road will be closed to through traffic between Mill lane and Spring Lane to enable this stretch of the road to be resurfaced with Micro Asphalt. A signed diversion route will be in operation.

Letters are being sent out to all residents affected and it needs to be noted that no on-street parking will be allowed whilst the Micro Asphalting is taking place

The Micro Asphalting process is dependent on good weather so the works may be subject to change should the weather conditions be unfavourable on the day. Residents have been asked to check street lamp columns for updates should this be the case.

The final phase of the work, the installation of new road markings will be carried out 2 to 3 weeks after the completion of the Micro Asphalting works.

So finally the misery of road works and closures due to the renewal of the water and gas mains in this area is coming to an end. What we do ask is that once the works are complete and motorists begin to enjoy the improved road surface that they remember that it isn’t a race track and that pedestrians need time to cross the road. Keep your speed down and remember it is a 30 mph road.
