Find out what schools in your community are likely to lose in funding due to government cuts

by Ian Shires on 30 May, 2017

You don’t need to be a genius to know that something has gone wrong with education. The system we have concentrates more on testing than leaning, it is underfunded and we do not have enough teachers.

The government has cut school funding across the country by £2.2 billion a year since 2015. It is proposing between now and 2020 to cut a further £3 billion. Schools in Short Heath and New Invention are set to see their budgets cut by almost £1.3 million that’s the equivalent to 33 teacher posts not being funded by 2020. Ninety-nine per cent of all schools will suffer funding cuts this will lead to larger class sizes, fewer teaching assistants, less subject choice along with cuts in after school activities.

Whilst our schools are facing cuts in funding the government is planning more selection with the introduction of grammar schools leaving parents with less choice for their children should they fail their 11 + exams.
