The rain stopped. The clouds scudded away and the sun shone in a blue sky over the war memorial at High Road, Lane Head as the parade arrived and the service began. The crowds this year were even bigger than last year and included representatives of Willenhall’s Twin Town of Drancy in France as well as serving members in today’s armed forces.
A big thank you went out to the Royal British Legion in Short Heath for organising the event and to all those who had contributed to the cost of closing off roads along the parade route.
