The People of North Willenhall show their Respect

by Ian Shires on 12 November, 2017

People of North Willenhall showed today that the fallen in two world wars and the conflicts that have happened since and those continuing today will not be forgotten.

The rain stopped. The clouds scudded away and the sun shone in a blue sky over the war memorial at High Road, Lane Head as the parade arrived and the service began. The crowds this year were even bigger than last year and included representatives of Willenhall’s Twin Town of Drancy in France as well as serving members in today’s armed forces.

A big thank you went out to the Royal British Legion in Short Heath for organising the event and to all those who had contributed to the cost of closing off roads along the parade route.
