Eyesore – owners need to comply with tidy up plans

by Ian Shires on 4 December, 2017

The shop on the corner of Essington Rd and Baynton Rd has been the subject of a number of complaints for some time now. Gas bottles, pallets, fence panels, concrete posts, gravel boards, turf and bags of soil on a previously approved box planter, grassed amenity area and disabled car parking space.

Following discussions with the owners a planning application came to last week’s Planning Committee for a much reduced gas bottle storage against the front of the shop which will not project further than 2 metres forward of the front of the shop. Further there will be no open storage or goods sold from the frontage other than the gas cylinders.

The permission as described above has been granted so hopefully the clutter will be removed by the owners quickly, improving the look of the access into Baynton Road and ensuring that there is sufficient parking on the site.
