Have been out and about with the Willenhall Lib Dem Focus Team as usual this weekend in and around New Invention.
As wll as delivering Focus it gives us the opportunity to get to talk with residents about the things that matter to them. Many wanted to know where things were with the new ALDI store up on Coppice Farm Way. Short answer is that planning permission has been granted and that ALDI had said from the very beginning that they expected to get the store open early in 2019. That’s still possible but they arrunning around 2 months behind schedule.
Other issues on residents minds included littering and the speed some cars are doing on our roads. In particular there were concerns about Essington Road, Coppice Farm Way, Lichfield Road and Pooles Lane. We will be taking this up with the Police when we meet with them later this week.
There have been a couple of speed related accidents recently in Westley Road and Coppice Lane. The Police are stretched because of continuing austerity cuts to their budget but we need to find ways of tackling this problem the sooner the better.Leave a comment
