Updates Focusing on Willenhall, Darlaston and Bentley

This is the weekly update focusing on Willenhall, Darlaston and Bentley.

  • we have had volunteers coming forward, offering to work with our vulnerable communities and those who may be at risk.
  • A number of retailers have also helped and supported the communities of Willenhall & Darlaston.
  • There are a number of local organisations working together to find and deliver groceries and goods to vulnerable people/those at risk.

Lockdown breaches –  who to contact

West Midlands Police have set up an online form for you to inform them of any breaches to the current lockdown:

  • It delivers up to date information from police and partners direct to your inbox.
  • It provides updates on crime, local news, appeals, safety advice and it is free to sign up to the WMNOW site.

Kicsters

  • Kicsters are developing a number of free digital activities for young people aged between 10 – 18 living in Walsall.
  • Already on the website ( kicsters.co.uk) are activities showing young people what skills they need to become a DJ.
  • Kicsters have up-dated and added more session and activities for young people.
  • This includes a first in a series of activities of photography sessions.
  • The first session is about Shots and Angles and is available to download by Kicsters website members.
  • Kicsters are also making the project an accredited one.  Kicsters Photography Award is available to every young person across Walsall which is explained in the activity.
  • A lot of the activities will be uploaded to the website at kicsters.co.uk
  • Young people will be able to access the activities online for as long as they are available on the website.
  • To register, all a young person needs to do is click ‘Log In’ and press sign up. They will then be asked to complete the registration form.

New Funding From the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust .

The Forces Communities Together programme will award small grants of up to £10,000 towards creative and engaging projects, that can be delivered under social restrictions, for people from Armed Forces communities who are isolated as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
