Walsall to go into Tier 3 at the end of National Restrictions 2nd December.

by Ian Shires on 26 November, 2020

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday of the Winter Plan and Tier arrangements following the end of National Restrictions next week, it has been confirmed by the Government today that the Borough of Walsall is in Tier 3 – High Alert, so what does this mean for Walsall Residents?

A summary of the restrictions which will come into effect from 3 December 2020 can be found here: https://bit.ly/2V1otYO

The really disappointing thing for everyone must be that before the national Restrictions were introduced on 5th November, Walsall was in Tier 2. Now, as we are about to emerge from those restrictions and we digest the latest information from the Westminster Government, Walsall like the rest of the West Midlands has been told they are in Tier 3 (The only parts of the West Midlands not in Tier 3 will be Shropshire, Hertfordshire and Worcestershire, they will be in Tier 2).

Right now, the most important messages for us all are that households must continue not mix in homes and people must take self-isolation seriously. Self-isolation means you must stay at home.

The COVID-19 Winter Plan – Summery https://bit.ly/2V1otYO, has information of what the Government says we can and can’t do from the 3rd December 2020.

I know how difficult this is but if we are to get back to something like a normal life everyone needs to abide by the rules for Tier 3 until told otherwise. Not abiding by these rules makes the journey to recovery that much longer and yet again the Westminster Government has dangled the carrot – Christmas was going to happen. The reality is very different,  and yet again they have found a way of shirking their responsibilities.
