As reported last week there has been a spate of thefts of and from vehicles in the New Invention and Short Heath areas of Willenhall. The Lib Dem Focus Team has reported in a number of incidents to the local neighbourhood policing team.

We received the following copy of a letter going out to residents in the worsted affected areas and thought it would be good to highlight the problem to all local residents….

Dear Resident

Willenhall Police would like to make you aware of a recent spate of Vehicle crimes to Willenhall North and Short Heath area.

During the last months we have had a number of Thefts from motor vehicle reported to police and we have seen vans and vehicles targeted for tools and registration plates.

Your police team have stepped up their patrols in the highlighted areas.

You can play your part too by making sure you follow some of the crime prevention advice below: 

• Ensure you remove tools from vans.
• Do not leave any valuables on show.
• Check your vehicle is locked before leaving it unattended.
• Report suspicious activity.
• Ensure vehicle registration plates and safely secured to vehicle.
• Do not leave vehicle running unattended whilst de-icing.

Willenhall North and Short Heath Neighbourhood team is working hard to tackle this kind of criminal activity in your area. The team will continue to provide pro-active patrols in the area and will contiue to deal with incidents with a robust manner.
