Temporary traffic lights in Sandbeds Road at junction with Stroud Ave caused absolute chaos during the morning rush hour today.

I received a message off a local resident at 7.50 am giving me the heads up on this. Got onto Highways who came back to let me know that they were onto the case.

One of the lights was stuck on red. Severn Trent had had them installed to enable them to carry out emergency repairs to a sewer. Apparently the work will take a few days, the 13th was mentioned. They had omitted to tell the Council about the temporary lights.

Walsall Council have asked Severn Trent to monitor the lights to ensure once fixed that traffic flows are ok.
