Change to Planning Application Former Cavalcade Pub Site Stroud Ave

by Ian Shires on 30 May, 2015

We have just received notification that the applicants seeking to develop the former Cavalcade Pub site in Stroud Avenue, Short Heath have reduced the size of the proposed apartment block to 15 units along with some minor changes to the layout. There is a reference to the fact that it affects the setting of public rights of way WILL 40 and 41.

Will need to check with Walsall Planners to find out exactly what this means in appearance of the proposed development and get back to you.

Initial look at the plans on the Council’s website shows that the apartment block remains 3 storey. The reduction in size to 15 apartments is more to do with quantity rather than actual size. I have attached the plan layout but if you want more details go to the Council’s website click on Planning and add in Planning Application No 15/0061/FL. You should be able to view all documents there.
Still going to discuss with Planners so as to understand the full implications of the “Re-Notification”. Will feed back once I’ve done this.

Hi Mr Shires, Could you look into the situation regarding the building plot on the former Cavalcade site.It appears to be in da nger of becoming a dumping ground since the security fencing was removed. Thank you Roy Farthing.

      Hi Roy
Thanks for contacting me. Like you we are concerned about the condition of this site which is in private ownership. The owners have planning permission to build homes for sale. That being said we have written to the Council asking them to pursue the owners to clean up this Grot Spot using enforcement powers if the owners fail to comply.
      Regards
      Ian
