I received this in an email informing me that Transport for West Midlands are going to move their bus stop in Wesley Road as part of the ongoing work to resurface Wesley Road, that part of Coltham Road which links round to Straight Road along with Straight Road itself.

New location: Opposite the side elevation of house number 1 Bradgate Close (For services towards Wolverhampton)

Dear Resident

I am writing to you to advise you that the West Midlands Combined Authority is planning to relocate the above bus stop pole currently located adjacent to the entrance of the Short Heath Methodist Church car park.

The relocation of this bus stop pole is to facilitate the installation of a pedestrian crossing.

The above work has been passed by the local highways officer and meets with Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council’s highway safety criteria.

We currently plan to relocate the bus stop during November 2016.

 Walsall Council will also be putting in a new pedestrian crossing recently agreed after consultation. There were issues which affected the five detached  properties shown on the left of the picture. Most but not all of those issues were resolved by shortening the zig-zag line in front of the properties to the minimum permitted under the legislation.

It is also hoped that the resurfacing of Straight Road will finally cure the flooding problems which appeared during heavy persistent rain. Time will tell.
