Back in June 2016 following pressure from the Short Heath Liberal Democrat Focus Team Walsall Council agreed to send a notice to the owners of the site requiring the derelict pub to be demolished.

“To date the owners have not complied with the notice and the building has suffered further anti social behavior which has resulted in all of the shuttering protecting the windows from being vandalised leaving the building in a very dangerous condition.” said Liberal Democrat Group Leader Cllr Ian Shires.

“A further site visit has taken place this week and we will be pressing officers to take urgent action to make the building safe whilst arrangements are made to get the building demolished.” added Liberal Democrat Ward Cllr Dan Barker.

“We have had numerous calls from local residents who are concerned not only about the blight it puts on the area but have concerns that nothing will get done till someone gets hurt.” concluded Focus team Activist Ben Hodges.
